Some paths you have to walk alone and can't take everyone with you. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Good morninggggg Yall 🌞 👋

Life lessons are normally brought by situations in life. But often only learned when you actually stop to dissect and are present in life. Does that make sense? I’ve never been one to say what someone wanted to hear or to bite my tongue and I know that has more than not made me a “mean person” in the eyes of some. I've also never given a f**k so let me share my lesson on this beautiful Monday morning before I wake my kids to start our day. 🙃🙃

One of the lessons I teach my kids is the ability and the importance of being able to walk alone. And the difference between walking certain paths alone and still having the ability and opportunity to celebrate accomplishments with your people. The people you surround yourself with are just as important as the situations you put yourself in… in every walk of life. Someone who genuinely loves and supports you would never no longer do so just because you’ve chosen to do something alone. You should always feel comfortable sharing your success without being talked down to or made to feel like you’re bragging. As should their friends, family, siblings etc. Someone is always going to be better or more advanced than you at certain areas. This is not the time to let your green eye monster show- you support them as you would want them to do you. And if it's something you also want ....you use them as motivation to get better and make your own way. 💪 Having someone on the same journey as you can be a great learning experience and comfort for you both. But no two people live the same life, share exactly the same qualities or have the same opportunities so make your own way with the cards you were dealt. Or reshuffle the deck. 🃏

I know there is a thing about taking people to the top with you. It is a pressure society unnecessarily puts on our people. I don’t believe in it. 🚫 Majority of the people who say that have not made it to the top. Sorry not sorry. This is not saying once you make it forget about all the people at the bottom. It’s one thing to pave the way and then do for your community, friends, family whoever…whether it be financially, motivationally, or via advice, guidance, etc. But never do you allow yourself to be hindered or tied to someone who does not share the same passion and drive as you. Never do you put yourself in a situation in which you carry all of the weight.

I can name multiple businesses I started WITH someone. Or someone asked me to help them start…..And that same someone didn’t spend their free time bettering the business, just waiting for me to instruct them what to do next. Brought no initiative and offered no value. That wasn’t us “making it” together it was an idea we had together and they wanted ME to bring it to life. 🫤 I’ve lost count of the number of opportunities I have given aspiring entrepreneurs putting them in rooms and positions they never would’ve experienced without the path that I paved and they still in some way attempted to burn me. And some of yall reading this know exactly what and who I mean. But I won’t say names, lol. 🙃 I've had family members and friends I hired throughout my businesses that did not give a single F**k  about the overall reputation or integrity of my business or its relationships….just wanted to gain the same freedoms financially, time, etc. that I had. The amount of chances I gave and the stress I endured because I was under the impression/pressure of believing that I was a shitty person if I did not take them with me. Or offering a helping hand.

It wasn’t until I put my foot down and set boundaries on what I could do with and for other people and what I couldn’t. I focused on bettering myself for me and mine…it was then that the stress became within normal business owner levels. The weight lifted from my chest and I again started to enjoy what I do. I started attracting people who shared the same goals as me but wanted nothing from me. They genuinely just wanted to help me succeed and have someone to vent/brag to regarding their journeys. We can go days, weeks, months walking our own paths and still meet up to talk. Not once when I share an accomplishment or sale that I’ve had do I feel like they hold any envy towards me. Not once do I talk down to them or vice versa. Genuine bonds should not be stressful or like walking on eggshells. 🫶🏼❤️

So yes I teach my kids that sometimes you have to walk alone. And no you do not have to take everyone with you. Your path and your future are yours alone. That doesn’t mean you can’t have a network of people who share your goals but finding your way is equally important. Don’t ride the coattails of someone else. Don’t wait for someone else to put opportunities in your path. Kick in doors, cut down the trees, and go threw the fire on your own. It will mold you into something no one can clone or take credit for. And everyone won’t like you when you set these boundaries but that’s a them problem not you. Walking alone doesn’t have to mean being lonely. And if it does then they weren’t meant to be a part of your story anyway.

My critters have started to migrate downstairs so that's all I have for today. Happy Monday yall! Have a peaceful and productive week !!! 🧿🌻✌🏽
